Next to a bike shop, across from a doggie joint and situated in a crusty old Foster’s Freeze, this El Sobrante gem is as good as Viks if slightly more pricey. Very nice folks. Well worth the drive. This is often our “special treat” drive when we need to put Max to sleep. It is about 10 minutes door-to-door and Max almost always falls to sleep on the freeway.

“During the nine years I’ve produced the Top 100, the restaurant landscape has changed dramatically as we’ve gone through boom times and bust times. The economy may not have totally recovered, but you’d never know it by looking at the dining scene last year was one of the best for restaurants. It just shows that at the first signs of improvement, people are ready to eat out.”
